DYLS Youth Training – ACK St. Stephen Training & Conference Centre (April 7-11, 2025)

Biblical Encouragement:

📚 1 Timothy 4:12“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

The Diocesan Youth and Teens Ministry is conducting a five-day youth training at ACK St. Stephen Training and Conference Centre, bringing together 120 youth, facilitators and diocesan leadership from across the Diocese; and friends from other churches for an intense and transformative learning experience.

Program Highlights:

✅ Bible Study & Exposition – Deepening understanding of Scripture through structured teachings.
✅ Inspirational Talks – Led by Rev. Jomo Nderitu (Diocesan Youth & Teens Ministry Coordinator), youth leaders, and facilitators.
✅ Group Discussions & Debates – Engaging conversations on faith, morality, and personal growth.
✅ Strategic Vision Casting – Empowering youth to tackle life’s challenges with a Christ-centered mindset.

Key Moments:

April 8 – Official Opening

The training was officially opened by Archdeacon Joseph Kesho (Marsabit Archdeaconry Leader). Later in the day, Provost Kennedy Akhogo led a Holy Sacrament Service & Sermon, encouraging the youth in their spiritual journey.

April 9 – Bishop’s Address

A special highlight of the event was the visit from Rt. Rev. Qampicha, our Diocesan Bishop, accompanied by Diocesan Administrator, Canon Kargi. The Bishop shared an inspiring message, urging the youth to remain steadfast in their faith despite modern-day temptations such as:
🔸 Peer pressure & substance abuse
🔸 Social media distractions
🔸 Sexual immorality & moral compromise

He emphasized the importance of wisdom, personal integrity, and positive influence, stating:

📖 “Faith without wisdom is a fail.”
📖 “Seek to learn from others and don’t be a destroyer—be a builder.”
📖 “Be wise, mature, and respectful in your dealings with others.”
📖 “Present yourself as mature, honest, and respectful as you work with others.”

Empowering the Next Generation

Throughout the week, youth leaders are preparing to strategize and vision cast, ensuring that they leave the training equipped to be change-makers in their churches, communities, and beyond.
